RoHS Directive
On January 27, 2003 the European Parliament and the Council of the European
Union authorized Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of
certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. This
new directive, also referred to as RoHS (“ro-has”) requires that
manufacturers reduce usage of six hazardous substances to minimum
acceptable levels by July of 2006.
The six substances affected are:
Lead (Pb)
Hexavalent chromium (Cr +6)
Mercury (Hg)
Polybrominated biphenyl (PBB)
Cadmium (Cd)
Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)
Quick Eagle has been committed to reducing hazardous substances in all its product lines in an environmentally responsible, technologically feasible, and cost-effective manner without sacrificing the current high levels of performance, quality, and reliability.

WEEE Directive
On the same date, Directive 2002/96/EC or WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) was authorized. This directive aims to reduce the waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment and to improve the environmental performance of all those involved in the life cycle of these products.
The Directive is in the process of being implemented into the national laws of the 27 European Union Member States and applies to firms which manufacture, sell, distribute, recycle or treat Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
Quick Eagle is committed to meeting the requirements of the European Union’s WEEE Directive where Quick Eagle is the legal producer as defined under applicable law. This Directive requires producers of electrical and electronic equipment to finance the take-back for re-use or recycling of their products placed on the EU market after 13 August 2005.
Products provided by Quick Eagle that are within the scope of the Directive are labeled with a crossed-out "wheelie-bin" symbol as required by the Directive. This indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13 August 2005 and that end-users should separate the product from other waste at end-of-life.
As the WEEE Directive is being implemented in each of the European Union and European Economic Area countries through national legislation, there is considerable variation in the detailed requirements across the European Union.
As a result, please follow the country-specific disposal instructions listed to your right hand side.
If you have any questions about Quick Eagle’s efforts to achieve WEEE compliance, please email your question to recycling@quickeagle.com.
