Quick Eagle Networks is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Lead Embedded
Software Engineer for its software development center in Hyderabad, India. The ideal
candidate must have extensive hands-on software design, development and testing experience
of network connectivity products like routers, bridges, and CSU/DSUs.
The successful candidate will manage a group of software and test engineers in our R&D
center in Hyderabad and will be working hand-in-hand with the head of software engineering
and product management team in our headquarters in the U.S.
Essential Duties:
Analyzes product / customer requirements and provides input to project planning process regarding design approach, technology selection and project schedules
Specifies, designs and implements embedded product software to meet specific functional and design requirements
Works with other members of the software development team to complete assigned projects in accordance with aggressive project schedules
Responsible for solving design, implementation, integration, and debug problems of moderate to high complexity
Develops detailed functional and design specifications as well as support documentation
Manages a team of software and test engineers in Hyderăbăd, India
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
Strong fundamentals in software engineering principles and practices; system integration; testing methodologies; and technical documentation methods
Strong debugging abilities and the skill set to troubleshoot complex software systems
Strong skill sets in the areas of Layer-2 (e.g. STP, VLANs, MLT) and Layer-3 (Unicast and Multicast) protocols design and development for routing products
Well-rounded background covering the following disciplines:
- TCP/IP Internals
- Routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, BGP
- SNMP agent development
- Frame Relay
- PPP, MLPPP
- NAT
- Firewall
- IP/SEC VPN
- Quality of Service (e.g. DiffServ)
Working knowledge of datacom/telecom industry
Must be strong in C programming
Self-starter with excellent follow-through and flexibility
5 - 8 years experience in developing software for data networking products and a minimum of 4 years experience in embedded software development
BSEE, MSEE/CS or equivalent required
Considered a plus:
Experience with RTOS’ like embedded Linux, VxWorks or pSOS
Experience with source control tools (such as Clearcase) and InCircuit emulators
Experience in writing device drivers for interfaces such as ISDN, G.SHDSL, serial ports, T1/E1 and Ethernet ports
Experience with PowerPC architecture (MPC860, MPC8260)
